About FuelGuard
FuelGuard Assessments & Compliance is built on more than 75 years of combined experience in the construction, startup, inspection, and maintenance of fuel storage and dispensing facilities across all 50 states. Our team has been on both sides of the fence: building and maintaining systems, and later being asked to inspect and assess them. That practical field background shapes everything we do.
Field-first perspective
Our work is grounded in time spent on sites: walking tank fields, opening sumps, looking inside spill buckets, watching loading operations, and talking with the people who actually move product every day. We pay attention to how systems are really operated, not just to drawings and procedures.
- Focus on the actual condition of tanks, piping, dispensers, and containment to support upgrade plans, maintenance programs, and capital budgeting.
- Clear communication with operators, maintenance staff, and management so everyone understands what was found and why it matters.
- Flexible inspection scopes, from focused condition assessments at a single site to portfolio-wide reviews across corporate or government networks.
Experience with fuel facilities
Our experience covers retail gas stations and C-stores, bulk plants, fleet fueling yards, and government/municipal sites. We understand the constraints of dispatch schedules, delivery windows, and public service requirements, and we work to minimize disruption while still getting to the details that matter.
- Familiarity with UST/AST systems, dispenser islands, loading racks, fleet fueling skids, and remote/unmanned cardlock sites.
- Extensive experience coordinating with third-party testers, service providers, and tank contractors during construction, upgrades, and compliance testing.
- Ability to communicate technical conditions in plain language for owners, lenders, insurers, and regulators.
Certifications & professional credentials
FuelGuard personnel hold factory training and certifications from all major petroleum equipment and dispensing equipment manufacturers, along with credentials from key industry organizations. This blend of manufacturer-specific knowledge and industry-wide standards helps us understand both how systems are supposed to work and how they actually perform in the field.
- Factory-authorized training and certifications from major petroleum equipment and dispensing equipment manufacturers.
- Training and certifications associated with the Steel Tank Institute (STI) and related tank design, installation, and inspection programs.
- Training tied to American Petroleum Institute (API) / American Petroleum Council guidance where applicable to facility design and operation.
